Come start Holy Week with eucharist and the dramatic telling of the story of the final days in the earthly life of Jesus. We begin our service in our outdoor garden, and reenact the procession into Jerusalem as we enter the church for music and the telling of the story.
We will gather in the church and walk the stations around the outer walls of the sanctuary. With prayer, chant, readings, and song we will follow Jesus on the way of the cross.
We will observe the seder, the passover remembrance of the Hebrew people freed from bondage in Egypt and the setting for the Last Supper of our Lord. The meal will end as it did on "the night before he was betrayed", with eucharist.
Maundy from "mandatum", commandment, is the service for Thursday in Holy Week where we celebrate eucharist and wash one another's feet as our Lord Christ commanded us to do. This service will end with the stripping of the altar in preparation for Good Friday.
Our two services on Good Friday commemorating the crucifixion of our Lord wil be a spoken service at noon, and a service with music at 7pm. Eucharist will be from the reserve. There is no celebration on Good Friday.
The Great Vigil of Easter is the first service of the Easter Season. We will light the new fire, sing hymns of praise, see the Christ light, and smell the sweet smell of incense to celebrate the joy of the resurrection.
Our regular Sunday services will proclaim the joy of the resurrection with sung eucharist. The 10am service will have joyful hymns, choir anthems, and an easter egg hunt in our garden after the service.
